Inorganic Pyrophosphatase (iPPase)
SKU: E-0051
Description
E. coli inorganic pyrophosphatase (iPPase) catalyzes the hydrolysis of inorganic pyrophosphate (PPi) to form orthophosphate. Using iPPase in an in vitro transcription reaction drives RNA synthesis forward by removing pyrophosphate which forms as a byproduct and precipitates with key transcription buffer cations. Unit definition: One unit of enzyme produces 1 µmol of phosphate from inorganic pyrophosphate in 1 min at 25°C.
