SpCas9
SpCas9 is an RNA-guided DNA endonuclease from the CRISPR-Cas immune system of Streptococcus pyogenes. Guided by a single-guide RNA (sgRNA), it recognizes target DNA sequences adjacent to a 5'-NGG-3' PAM and introduces a site-specific double-strand break through its HNH and RuvC nuclease domains. As a programmable DNA-editing biomodule, SpCas9 enables precise genome modification, gene regulation, and synthetic biology applications.
